What is Teletherapy
Teletherapy is actual therapy and is the same as if the therapist would deliver face-to-face in an office. Clients can get the same type of therapy counseling they could receive in person, it’s just done through a computer now. If you’ve ever used Skype or FaceTime, you’ve used the same type of technology teletherapy uses. It is simple, safe and easy to use for both the Psychiatrist and patient.
Teletherepy counseling is a good solution for people who do not have access to well-qualified clinical professionals in their area or who live remotely or abroad. We also refer to it as teletherapy, online therapy or skype therapy: in short, it’s simply conducting a clinical therapy session using video as a means of communicating.
Is teletherapy for you?
It’s an excellent solution for those who are immobile or find it more convenient to conduct therapy in the privacy of their own home. Or are agoraphobic (fearful of leaving their home), but still want therapy.
Teletherapy is very effective. Research on the Teletherapy shows that video therapy counseling is just as helpful as counseling done in an office. Teletherapy is also very convenient and accessible for both parties, which helps people with consistency in counseling sessions which is very important.
